Sean Longstaff injured, Andy Carroll close to Newcastle return, says Steve Bruce

Sean Longstaff has long suffered an injury in training, while Andy Carroll is near some recurrence for Newcastle, states head coach Steve Bruce.
After recovering from a knee injury that kept him out of the last stages of the previous campaign longstaff has played all four Premier League games to date this year.
The 21-year-old attracted interest from Manchester United in the summer following his performances from his breakthrough year, but Bruce affirmed he’s been sidelined because of an injury in training.
Bruce stated:”Regrettably, Sean Longstaff turned an ankle yesterday in training. He won’t make.
“He strove to obstruct a cross and unfortunately twisted his arm and we won’t understand how intense that’s till the next few days. That’s a bit of a blow for us.
“It is one of those freak ones that unfortunately occurs. We were disappointed which we’ve lost a player. That’s what happens in football unfortunately.”
Newcastle started the year with beats against Arsenal and Norwich, but awakened to get a shock win at Tottenham thanks to the objective of record-signing Joelinton.
The striker hasn’t faced competition for his spot at the side nevertheless , he is challenged by Andy Carroll, who is nearing a return later he was re-signed on Deadline Day.
Bruce explained:”[Carroll has] made big progress this week. He’s thrilled with how it’s gone so far. It is excellent news to us.
“I guess for everyone to see him joining in with training was great for him, good for the group of course and we want now some positive news out of his professional.

“When you’ve got a ankle like he has got, it is always the response to the job he’s set in. At the moment it is all very good.”
Newcastle face a visit because they look to be the first team to collect points from the side of Jurgen Klopp this season, also Bruce admits it is going to be a really difficult challenge.
He added:”We’re going to European champions who have not lost a game in the home for two and a half years.
“They are as good a group as you are ever going to play so we will have to guard well that is for certain. But reveal that strength just like we did against Spurs and we need to take part in the match.
“When we have got it, can we cause a hazard and that has got to be the game plan straight away again.
